MSU Rotating Internal Medicine Resident Schedule for Cardiology 2008-2009

The purpose of the Cardiology rotation is to allow medical students and residents the opportunity to experience the overall view of Cardiology by participating in clinical, non invasive and outpatient activities. During this rotation, the medical student or resident will be assigned to a Cardiology Fellow who will act as their pimary liaison and teacher. This is generally a fellow that is assigned to the clinical service. Coordinator of schedules and activities is managed through the program coordinator, Linda East in conjuction with the fellow and faculty members. As a guideline, the following activities are required during the rotation:

These clinics take place at the Clinical Center on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Firday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Additional experiences in non-invasive testing are arranged either at Sparrow Hospital or at the MSU Clinical Center.

It is our goal to provide each individual with an experience that will allow them to more fully understand and appreciate the feild of cardiology. To that end we provide tailored programs to fit areas of specific interests as well a general cardiology overview. Additional time may be spent in the Catheterization Laboratory or other areas by arrangement. Rotation guidelines for all of the cardiology rotations may be found at www.cardiology.msu.edu.
